Be aware there are no showers or local stores. Current runs strong up to 2.5 knots. Great help from Dockmaster and dockhand. The Army Corp had actually closed the C&D Canal due to fog.

If looking for a quiet night of sleep it’s not the best. Very friendly and competent Dock Master, Steve, guided us right into fuel dock and then around to out spot on the bulkhead. Despite passing ships, there was very little rocking from wakes. Restaurant was good and steps from the boat. Restaurant is good and convenient.
Dinner,
Excellent hours for transients if trying to stretch your day. Nice casual restaurant on site. Nice people and the dock hands do a great job. I recommend using this marina when passing thru the C & D Canal. Tom the Dockmaster was very friendly and helpful.He guided us in to our spot over the radio and took our lines on arrival.

The marina has floating docks and a fixed pier on site, however customers needing power are placed on the fixed pier, as the floating docks do not have power. If a floating dock is preferred, the marina will accommodate. The available amenities of the docks, which are located outside of a restaurant and bar, are noted on the Snag-A-Slip profile. The marina does offer restrooms, but a bath house is not an available amenity. Staff was excellent from the time I hit the Fuel dock, until I was down the pier at my slip.

Please note fuel dock is being renovating and will not be available until May. It’s a shame that food felt like such a harried afterthought, because there were good ideas amid the rubble. Homemade spinach gnocchi, hearty and flavorful in its warm bath of sun-dried tomato cream sauce, choked with starch and chewiness. Other inoffensive fare like crab dip and Waldorf salad were simply underseasoned. "We'll bring some of our most popular dishes to Chesapeake City,but we'll add some new seafood dishes," he said. Dockmaster and crew were excellent in meeting all our needs.
I contacted the Dockmaster and he called me when the Canal was open to traffic. My only complaint has nothing to do with the marina. The restaurant has gone downhill. My guess is they have a new chef. It was prime rib ordered medium rare and arrived medium well.

Always awkward if seen as a complainer. On our way from Cape May to Baltimore. Liked it so much we stayed a second night. Quaint town and very nice restaurant. On a busy Friday night, a vision of the new Schaefer’s seemed actualized.

Nice location with the restaurant and the dockmaster hours were very convenient for our 5p arrival. Only suggestion is to add showers to the facility. Please provide your ETA, if you will be needing fuel, and direction of approach in the Notes section at checkout.
Strong currents can be expected. We really enjoyed the bar and restaurant. I would definitely stay there again.
Current and pilings made for a rough night. The restaurant was lively and the food was good. As to the accommodations there is a substantial amount of current through the marina and the tidal change is roughly 3’. With the marina only offering pilings that makes it tough to position bumpers for cushioning as the shifting current bounces the boat around. Lots of knocking throughout the night. If you’re looking for a fun spot to grab a bite and drink this is the place.
The staff was super friendly and helpful and really went out of their way for us. The restaurant was great and you are a short dinghy ride to town on the other side of the canal. Because it is a fixed dock, it can be tricky getting on and off the boat at low tide but the staff really does go out of their way to make it as easy as possible.
